Words of Wisdom:

TOUGH LOVE
You see that door over there? It goes two ways. I don't have to take this from you. I've raised you; you're my son; I gave birth to you; you do as I ask you to do, or you can leave. One of them did leave. He left, he was gone a year. I said, "OK, I'll give you a year. I'll, I'll give you a year. You can come back then." A year went by, he didn't show up. A year and two days went by; he didn't show up. A year and three days went by; he didn't show up. A year and fourth day, he calls me, he says, "Mother, I want to come home." I said, "I'm sorry. I said a year. Not a year and four days. When I needed you, you left. I don't need you now." Think I didn't cry? I still cry when I think about it. I never broke my promise. I said a year. I would've let him back in a year, but not a year and a day; two, three, four days. If I'd have broke my promise, not keeping my promise. He had to know, had to learn. When you say something, you promise, you do it.
